My name is Jamie Hodgskin, and I am currently studying English at Bournemouth University. In the future, I hope to combine my passion for writing with travelling the world and experiencing new cultures.

Journalism particularly interests me because of the wide range of topics it can cover. Pretty much all of my interests –  music, gaming, sports – can all be covered by journalism. The diverse options available make it an even more lucrative industry to break into.

In the past I have dabbled with blogging; writing for an online music magazine Undertone Online, and undertook a work placement at FootyBlog.net, where I covered the 2014 World Cup.

This blog is a reflection on selected journalism issues and experiences as a requirement for my News and Journalism unit this year. I hope to highlight and analyse some of the lesser known aspects of journalism, and leave you with a fact or two you hadn’t heard before.

Feel free to follow if you enjoy the content!
